Our Hometown Parade
By Chad S. Hawkins
Kaysville City has a long history of hosting parades which demonstrates the community’s passion for collectively honoring and celebrating national holidays, shared values, and talents.
The panoramic painting of the Kaysville 4th of July Parade captures the spirit of Kaysville’s idealistic hometown life with barefoot children scouring for parade candy. Air Force jets speed overhead, as the American flag passes and neighbors unite in patriotism with hands over their hearts.
Notice local traditions included in the painting: the water parade, Davis High marching band, and Clover Club potato chips, among others.
The painting is the work of Chad Hawkins, a highly successful local artist and illustrator. The painting was commissioned by Zion’s Bank and generously donated to Kaysville City in August 2016.
